Music

What genres of music do you like?
I love all sorts of music, but I tend to steer clear of hard wrap and hard metal. Mostly I love pop and singer/songwriter folk music. I love acoustic songs. And I love the classics. I grew up with Creedence Clearwater Revival, ABBA and Boston, thanks to my dad who'd have it constantly playing on the reel-to-reel.
Music is a huge part of my life. It moves me and tends to dictate my mood, if I listen long enough, or too long, however you want to look at it. Sometimes, when I'm feeling blue, I'll put my earbuds in and just drown my life away in my recovery playlist.
I also especially love music that validates my feelings. Havoc, by Alanis Morissette and Homage to the Suffering by Matthew Perryman Jones specifically comes to mind.
I love music with a good beat, which can sometimes get me in trouble because often some of the best beats contain some of the most unsavory lyrics. I really have to be careful to not offend the Spirit by what I listen to.

Mannerisms

What mannerisms distinguish you?
I'm very animated when I speak, to the point that I might bet that if my hands were tied behind my back I may not be able to speak hah! I also say "um" and "like" a lot in my casual speak, even though I've tried to quite a thousand times. I've since given up and I now embrace the way I speak.I love to sing. I'm always singing new and old tunes. I think I sing so much to make up for my inability to whistle. My face is also very expressive. Basically, I love to communicate, in all it's forms.

Dressed for Success

What signature clothes or accessories do you usually sport?
I love blue jeans. I would wear them everywhere if I could. Because of my odd shape, it's difficult to find jeans that fit, but I finally found them online at Rue 21! I hope that store never goes out of business, or I'll absolutely cry. With my jeans I like to wear light and flowy blouses. I like to wear pinks, reds and blues. I'm not a fan of green, purple or yellow. In the summer, I sport flip flips, and in the winter I love to wear Doc Martens and knee boots. I also love sweaters.

Birthmarks, Tattoo's and Other Scarrage

Do you have a birthmark?
Let's just say it's huge, and my husband aptly named it the Milky Way, because it looks like a large constellation of stars on my back right shoulder. I actually love my birth mark. It's unique but not so large or awkwardly placed that I feel shame for it. It also gets much darker in the summer.
Do you have any scars?
Scars. Wow. I think I could fill this whole post with my scars. I have multiple scars on my breasts from the breast reduction I had in 1999 (they removed 9lbs). I also have major scarrage from three c-sections. Other than those, I have little ones here and there, but nothing too major.
Do you have any freckles or moles?
I do not have any moles, but I am quite freckly.
Do you have any other distinguishing features?
I have big teeth, actually. They make my dentist really happy. I can hear him now, "Ohhh what big teeth you have!!" haha. I guess the large the teeth, the more the dentist has to drill away when working on cavities and whatnot.

Physical Appearance

Describe your physical appearance and typical behavior so that a stranger could pick you out of a crowd:
I'm pleasantly plump. On the shorter side, but I still hold my own. My legs are short and I have a longer torso. I wear glasses and probably will my entire life. My teeth are crooked, but symmetrical, so I don't think they look all that bad. I have medium length hair. It's layered, and my bangs are down to my nose right now, although their length changes quite often. I currently have blonde highlights. I pretty much always wear hoop earrings and I love jeans. I am very animated and laugh a lot, although mostly only if I'm comfortable because I do struggle with some social anxiety.

Say My Name

What is your full given name?
Julie Ann Whiting
How was that name chosen?
This is quite the interesting story. My mom wanted to name me Sidreis Renee, but my dad, Roger Whiting, wanted to name me Julie Ann. So, my dad got sneaky and signed my birth certificate while my mom was busy recovering. Needless to say, she was livid when she found out. I went an entire year, or maybe a year and a half, as Julie Ann. Then my parents divorced and my mom took me down to the courthouse to have my name legally changed to Sidreis Renee.
What do you like to be called?
Sidreis, although my family and old friends still call me Sid.
What are all the other names you have used?
I remained Sidreis Renee Whiting until my step-dad, Joseph Keller, adopted me when I was 5. I then became Sidreis Renee Keller, and there I stayed until I married.
Have you ever been called by a name that was distasteful or hurtful?
In High School, two boys--Keith Leach and Andy Nash--would call me Frog. I'm not sure how I got the name. It's not like I'd walk around ribbit'ing. Stupid kid stuff, I suppose.
If you could choose a different name, what would it be?
I've always loved the name Siouxsie. Not because of Siouxsie and the Banshees, but because I am part Sioux indian.
